How long does it take a Nextion / TJC HMI to power up, and be ready to receive data from your MCU?
If you’re relying on delays at the MCU side before talking to the HMI, this start up delay is important to get right, but best practice is to use proper two-way handshaking to let the MCU know when the HMI is actually ready.
Adam tests a variety of 9 different Nextion and TJC screens to find this out.
We also look at how much 5V current each screen draws, an important consideration for the larger screens when designing your 5V rail regulator.
