Hi Peter,VK3JUG wrote:Does it have a partner and family? Time for a new shack!
I have two of them in my shack. Each gets one half of the room and they move around it slowly. I don't mind them because they keep the place clear of other bugs. I brought my wife in to show her and she suggested I burn down the shack.

My ZL-PLL configured as a signal source for testing the microwave gear in the field to ensure the antennas and receivers are working properly.
Preprogrammed spot frequencies on each microwave band.

Re: What's on your Workbench?
Hi All,
This is a Warp corporation WAS-1 peak reading power meter. I guess it was made in the 70's or 80's. Never seen one before and can't find any info on the interwebby about it. Comes with a HF, VHF and UHF power sensor and is auto ranging 20W, 200W, 2000W. Perhaps not surprising, the previous owner has been through it with the magic screwdriver and there's a myriad of trimpots in the meter and the sensors. I have an idea of how I might go about calibration but it would be nice have an idea of how the meter has been put together so I can work out a starting point.
Does anyone have "any" documentation on this meter?

Re: What's on your Workbench?
I just bought one of these Stealth microwave WiMAX amps off ebay.
They look brand new !! not a mark on them and no solder on the binding posts.
This will go nicely with my Minikits transverter.
20w out on 3.4Ghz

Re: What's on your Workbench?
You must have bought yours at the same time as me Tim.
Mine arrived on Wednesday. Same thing, perfectly brands new. So some extra power on 3.4 here too!

Mine arrive Monday, and I've done a few quick tests on it and now I'm just setting up to do some proper testing and raph the results.

Re: What's on your Workbench?
I have a funny feeling we purchased from the same eBay seller from Israel... as on Monday last week there were 3 available at this particular seller, which then went down to 2. I snagged the last two for myself and another ham here thinking he was out of stock, then he relisted more!VK2XAX wrote:LOL... great minds think alike

Re: What's on your Workbench?
Finished! Officially!
Had it on test last weekend, but finally made final adjustments and level checks of my 3.4 GHz transverter. VK3ATL modified panel in a 3U case. Antenna can be mounted on back of case, or another antenna can be plugged in if required.
Output power measured today was 25W

Re: What's on your Workbench?
Thanks Lou,
Sounds like a plan. I've got a couple more modifications to go on the 3.4 unit. I want to be able to have 3.4 setup on it's own tripod and start to play with some different antennas. I'll have to find myself a directional coupler that covers the band shortly.

Re: What's on your Workbench?
Repackaging my W1GHZ 10GHz transverter into a more manageable enclosure. You can see the original layout on my QRZ page. The antenna is a MTi panel mounted behind the aluminium panel. DEMI 2.5W PA, the remainder should be recognizable. I've tried to make all my small transverters 300mm x 300mm because I have a few old 3.4GHz carcasses (sorry no boards) of which I re-use the back covers.

Re: What's on your Workbench?
Looking very good Lou. Well laid out and a good use for all though old enclosures.
Re: What's on your Workbench?
Finished the receive bit of my rebuilt 5.7 GHz luggable setup. Went looking for the VK4RBB beacon to optimise the feed location but nothing heard or seen on WSJT-X. I am kind of hoping the beacon is not working........

A touchscreen controller for an Eltek Flatpack2 48/2000 HE rectifier, that's what!

This Eltek PSU will become the 48V PSU for a future RF Power Amplifier.

Re: What's on your Workbench?
Very good video Adam. The power supply sounds like it's about to take off down a runway when it's powered up with that fan though
Re: What's on your Workbench?
Eltek Flatpack2 48/2000 HE touchscreen controller project moving along, with a PCB to accommodate a power supply and the connectivity for the Arduino Nano, CAN bus adapter, and touchscreen.
I've moved away from these cheap ebay "60V step down boards ", and will be using a MAXIM MAX5035B variant, a "1A 76V High efficiency step-down DC-DC converter", available in an SOIC8 package and with a fixed 5V output voltage variant.

Not being able to purchase an "LM2596HVS" from a reputable supplier like RS Components immediately raised a red flag.
