144 MHz & ILLW 2010

Post by VK3PF »

Hi all,

This coming weekend is the International Lighthouse & Lightship Weekend (ILLW).

I little birdie tells me that there is a strong chance that both Point Hicks (QF42pe) and Wilson's Promontory (QF30eu) are likely to be active with 2 m SSB gear. Both these squares are relatively rare, especially QF30!

Keep your ears open, especially operators in VK3 and VK7. Terrain considerations dictate that contacts to the north from either site are likely to be difficult.

Good luck - I will miss both, as I am still relocating to a new QTH.

Has anyone heard from either of these two exotic locations yet this weekend on 2 meters, Point Hicks QF42 or Wilsons Prom QF30.

Listening on 144.100
