First 47Ghz contact!

Peter VK2YGM and I tested my Kuhne 47ghz transverters over two short paths. Very impressive full scale sigs over 8.3km LOS. Already enough to submit a VK2 record application. (0.15mW into 36db dishes). Very sharp dish pointing is required; beamwidth is about one degree! We will try some other paths soon.

47GHz is truly impressive.
If you have any photos of the system, and your outing, please post here... we're keen to see stuff like this.

Well, we're up to 32.3km, and on a sea path with lots of sea spray (Friday 13th). Look out for 50-60km...
