That looks like an interesting site to play with.
I've also got some photos from various mountains which might be useful. More pictures are added every couple of months.

well, it sounds great to me and gives a chance to have a regular day a month to test out the progress on microwave gear construction here.

a bigger dish on the mountain for 23cm is the current project , but feed construction and receive converter on 13cm is next

as its only one day a month i am sure families will understand its 'our' day

Hi Matt and others,
in general, Saturday am would be better for me. Justin, I have weakened and have ordered a DEM 6cm 3W TxVr. I expect to be ready to test soon..

Looking forward to tomorrow's inaugural uwave day. I will be at QF56EG61jh with 10GHz.

If anyone other than Matt VK2DAG and Jack VK2TRF fancy a sked, give a call on 146.500 FM Simplex, VK2RAG repeater, or my mobile 0439 699752.

I will also have a play on HF from up there between skeds 8)

A successful day out today, although extremely windy at my /P location. The day started with a good breeze, and ended with one hand hanging onto the dish and the other hand on the mic

Some good DX on 10GHz, 96km with Matt VK2DAG and 100km in the afternoon, and some great contacts with Jack VK2TRF with his superb omnidirectional 10GHz slotted waveguide antenna. Just the thing for field days and 10GHz nets!

QSO with Matt VK2DAG at 96km.

Rainscatter, anyone? Looking towards Sydney CBD.

My 10GHz setup held down with rocks found in the surrounding bushland.

My new improved 10GHz setup now with GPS locking and a 106.5MHz GPS derived synthesizer.

Thanks to Matt VK2DAG for suggesting and organising this play day. Looking forward to the next one!

Good test for the mast and omni. Bit windy but that made the test real!!

From handbrake to TX less than 90 secs.
Mast fully up at 7m Will hoist about 8 KG unguyed.

Hi guys,
I was wondering who is coming out to play on Sunday 19 September 2010.
As per previous weekend outing.
Starting 10am.
Finishing about 2 pm.
Liason Simplex 146.500 FM simplex.
I am currently operational on 13cm and 6cm and intend to be within the Sydney Basin.
I'm hoping to check both bands after some changes made in the last month.

Hi Rob VK2GOM and Justin VK2CU,
Thank you for the replies.
It should be another great weekend for uWave amateur radio.
I would like to check both 13 and 6cm out with Justin and anyone else who would like to check their gear out on those bands.
Rob, next month I should have 3 watts on 10Ghz and I'm looking forward to working you on that band.

I'm sure Matt and hopefully Jack, Dan and a few others will be available as well.

I'm not sure where I'll setup on Sunday but I will advise later this week.

Have a great week and I'll chat with you on Sunday.

Regards,

Steve VK2XDE

Hi Dave VK2TDN,
Are you able to make it on Sunday?
I'll keep the 9th Oct in mind.

Hi Dave VK2JDS,
I'll put the 910 in the car and the long loop yagi. Looking forward to working you on 23cm.
The 23cm amp is nearly ready but won't be finished by this weekend.

I'd love this to happen in VK5 as well, infact, I'm prepared to drive a fair distance
to get to where there are other likeminded uWavers in South Australia...

There is a Tech Symposium on the next planned date in Adelaide, but I'm sure we can come up with other dates suitable for all...
Please email me or reply here if your interested, look forward to hearing from anyone interested!

Just charging SLA batteries etc. in preparation for tomorrow.

I can confirm I will be up at the Wentworth Falls site again QF56EG61jh. Hopefully less wind this time and calmer weather!

Jack VK2TRF and I will be trying something rather novel on 10GHz... Watch this space post event for pics and video!

Let's see if we can get a mention in AR Magazine again!

AFAIK Jack will be down in Sydney CBD, but is of course quickly mobile with his mobile mast setup.

We can all liaise on 146.500 and take it from there.

I am just going to grab some headings from Google Earth, then get some breakfast, load the 4x4, then head out.

Another great day out - thanks all who went out and made it possible.

Jack VK2TRF and myself had an interesting QSO... Jack /M on 10GHz. Yes, Mobile in his 4x4. Some interesting things noted which seem to happen at 10GHz when mobile. All is shown and demonstrated in the video below.

We are thinking this 10GHz mobile QSO could be a 'first' in VK - unless anyone can advise otherwise?

Sorry it took 3-1/2hrs to upload to YouTube!

Link to Youtube itself is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrKWWKujG6U that has more information regarding the QSO.
