Werner Wulf antenna.
Werner Wulf antenna.
Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had the diagrams to construct a Werner Wulf 5 element yagi for 10m. I have the plans/spec's for a 3 and 6 element versions but I'm not having much luck finding any information on the 5 element.

Karl
I should have a set at home in the filing system.... but the orginal WW 10m 5 element was a short boom (18' from memory) and when I had one built in the mid 1980's I had WW include an extra boom section so that I could build the antenna to the K6STI spec's of 5 elements on a 24' boom - resulting in a solid performer that has lasted c.25years (and is finally being replaced this winter).
I'll scan and post the details here in the next few days when/if I get some time in the shack.

Hi Scott, Karl & Trent,
I'd be interested in those drawings too please.
I have some decent boom to element clamps here that I picked up on eBay that are screaming out to me to make them into a long boomed 10M yagi.
Thanks in advance,
(Electronic copies are fine, I own a printer! )

Re: Werner Wulf antenna.
Wow - surprised even myself... found receipt and paperwork from 1986....
You quickly can tell what market VK3BWW was chasing back then - all dimensions are for a centre freq of 27.100MHz . I'll scan tomorrow at work (scanner not working at present here ) and upload asap - even if just for the humour value of it.
But if you have reference to older ARRL books refer to the K6STI 5 element 10m yagi described in ARRL Antenna handbook 18th edition page 11-11. Alternatively the yagi.exe from Brian K6STI allows you to play around a little more (email me for a copy).
Cheers

Attached is the document (two files). As mentioned, it's very basic!

Hi Scott,
Thank you for making the effort in sourcing the information for me and others about the Werner Wulf antenna.

Re: Werner Wulf antenna.
My pleasure - also found old 3.5" disk with Yagi and YA on it if you need to play with that too!
Re: Werner Wulf antenna.
I did notice that it was for 27.100MHz. So a small tweak will get me centered on 28.490MHz..
Once again...Thank you.

Re: Werner Wulf antenna.
Back to this thread.
I'm planning on taking down my old 5 element Werner Wulf 28MHz monobander (modified to K6STI design on 24' boom) in coming month.
Free to good home. If you want it let me know - and I'll be a little more careful in the uninstall .
Antenna must be collected, but elements and boom will be separated to make it a little easier to transport. ( it's over 25 years old and element joints will be fused together - even though aluminox was used in last rebuild (c.10 years ago).

Re: Werner Wulf antenna.
Wow.... high demand. It's gone in less than 30 minutes.
Re: Werner Wulf antenna.
I wonder if anyone may have the paper work to the element spacings for the WW 15m/10m dual yagi, also any idea where one might be able to source the locking cams for this antenna...
Any help will be greatfully appreciated..

Graham

Check the ARRL Antenna handbook for their version... given the flexibility of his designs you'll be able to match to you're choice of NBS & K6STI designs discussed!

Re: Werner Wulf antenna.52MHz yagi
Hi
I want to make a 4 or 5 element yagi for 52 MHz using parts from used 10 & 15m yagis made by Werner Wulf. I also have some new parts I wanted to use in the gamma match although they will have to be modified for 6 meters, otherwise I will have to construct a totally different 52Mhz yagi.
I have noted that werner didn't show a lot of measurements on His drawings as the parts were made to his measurements and would only fit one way, without modifications. So, these measurements may not be available... Like the distance from gamma match to the driven element etc...
I also have a HB35 made by Werner Wulf which I am testing at the moment. All the paperwork etc I had received with this antenna was for HB35 made by Andy Coman and others... Hi Hi.... The previous owner hadn't assembled the antenna.... How the owner before Him ever got it to work I don't know, as the elements were taped one inside the other which was how they were to go, but it was all wrong.... Hi Hi.. but I have finally gotten it all together....

Re: Werner Wulf antenna.
There is no action on 52MHz, we SSBers are all on 50MHz
Beacons, FSK, WSPR, JT65 etc..
On 52MHz, we still have 52.525MHz simplex and 6m repeaters.
Put up a 5/8 vertical.

Now that is a bit wrong. There is activity on 52MHz as standard license does not allow 50MHz so 52MHz is where their action is.

And there are those of us on 52MHz who are quietly avoiding 50MHz and the associated drama, band police and self appointed custodians.VK6ADF wrote:VK2ZIW wrote:There is no action on 52MHz, we SSBers are all on 50MHz
