I Email Norm P29NB to see if he was going to be active on 6m this summer. Part of the reply I received below;
Cathy and I left PNG the end of June, 2009 to take on another international assignment with SIL, so I am no longer in PNG. Sorry, I won't be able to give away PNG on 6.
Jerry Walker was/is a budding 6 meter enthusiast, but Jerry is currently in the USA. He will be returning to PNG in 2010. You could search for contact details on Jerry via P29ZAD and contact him that way to set up skeds or check interest levels.
This is unfortunate as we again seem to have no activity from P29 until at least until 2010. Has anybody else heard of any activity or proposed activity from P29.

All is not lost. After reading this I contacted my friend David, P29GQ to ascertain if he had 6 metre capability. The good news is that he does.
I have emailed David the VKLogger details and keeping my fingers crossed that he will appear soon.

Re: P29 Activity
Puiu (YO5BIM) should be QRV from Port Moresby starting from 1st of February, for 20 days.
Puiu says "will monitor 6m each local morning and evening....hope the best".
... so it seems he might be there on a work assignment?
I've asked him for more info and told him about VKLogger

Re: P29 Activity
More good news Bob, well done, P29 ops have been a bit thin on the ground, so having a second operator
there for a while should stir up some interest.
Cheers

Re: P29 Activity
G'day all,
Yes, sadly ham radio in PNG has been on the decline for some time now. When I lived in PNG there were quite a few active hams, more than 20. Some will remember Paul P29PL now VK2BPL who was very active on 6 in the 80's an 90's from Boroko. Another keen op was Rick P29KFS now sadly SK. I have contacted another friend who lives in Port Moresby and suggested that he try and get on 6 metres. Time will tell.
I will keep reminding David P20GQ about 6 metres.

05-Feb-10 09:08 YO5BIM my qrg for the weekend will be 50096 and 50136
