Like the topic says,
Where will you be for the VHF UHF Spring Field Day?

I will be on top of Castle Hill, Townsville with my FT847, tower trailer and beams for 6M, 2M and 70cm.
I plan on doing an 8 hour stint there, from kickoff on the Saturday.
I'd love to have 23cm stuff too, but it's not going to happen this year.
From Google Earth, here are the co-ordinates I will be at:

Lat : -19.259 S (-19° 15' 32'' S)
Long : 146.8041 E (146° 48' 15'' E)
QTH locator : QH30JR

The Tamworth Radio Club, VK2BTW, will again be at the Black Sugarloaf, QF58SP, 60km east of Tamworth at 1404m asl and should be operating on 6m, 2m and 70cm SSB. We will be there late Friday to end of the contest on Sunday. We hope to make some good contacts.

Teams from the ACT plan to be active from:
If you have Google Earth installed, the links will take you to the locations. Alternatively, if you right click on a link and 'copy link location', you can paste the URL into the search box in Google Maps. (Do I need to tell you to zoom out until you get a viewable map?)

Capability may include bands up to 10GHz. More information on capability and operating times closer to the event.

I am not yet aware of other plans, and there may be some home station activity.

Jack, keep in mind that the current VK1 records for 13cm and 3cm are 286.6km and 243.0km respectively.

If your location fell beyond those distances from Mt Coree (VK1BL et al), there is the prospect of a record breaking contact.

Owen,

our primary site is 267K from Coree while our secondary (which is a walk up) is 283K. Plans are to try the primary and then move to the secondary if signals are good. Probably only be able to operate 3cm from the secondary site.

Only a few good southern sites with no trees in Sydney. Sigh!

Due to a circumstances beyond my control, the VK4BOF trip to Townsville's Castle Hill is now off.
I hope to be able to go and play somewhere in the local area, just not sure where yet.
More information on my location will be posted here when I know where I will be. :)

Hi all.

Out of winter hibernation and will be listening on 6m, 2m & 70cm SSB/CW/FM from Carinda QF39tk - NW NSW for the contest duration.

Too many snakes around at the moment to go camping this year, so air-conditioned shack, fridge and BBQ at home will be the modus operandi this time and will try and get up to Mt Oxley near Bourke or Mt Foster near Quambone for the Summer contest when I hope the snakes are a little less agressive ~~~~~~~D-<

15el 2m @ 50ft with 200W + preamp.
13el 70cm @ 57ft with 150W + preamp.

Will be using callsign VK2KN and also monitoring my normal listening frequencies of 7159KHz & 3608.5KHz and ~900MHz shoe phone 0428307771

Hope to catch you on air.

Cheers,
Peter - VK2TPK/VK2KN

G'day Matt,

I will be in Ryde looking south towards Mt Coree near Canberra. If I have time I will also move to near Dural to try a shot over the mountains to Canobolas.

Very experimental as the PA only arrived yesterday and has yet to be bolted in. Preliminary tests show nearly six watts out, however, on 10368.

0n 900MHz I am on 0418 438 205

Finally!
After my disapointment at not being able to head to Townsville for the contest, I am able to go somewhere to play radio!
I'll be with the T.R.E.C. crew operating as VK4WAT/p on top of Hallorans Hill in Atherton Nth QLD.
The (rough) co-ordinates are as follows:
Long : 145.4946 E (145° 29' 41'' E)
Lat : -17.2679 S (-17° 16' 4'' S)
QTH locator : QH22RR

We'll have a quad + a 5 element yagi for 6M, a couple of 10 element yagis for 2M, a 17 & a 11 element yagis for 70cm, additionally 23cm and 10GHz gear will be in operation as well!
Power outputs are something in the order of:
6M - 100W
2M - 200W
70cm - 50W
23cm - 20W
3cm - 3W

All in all, if the propagation gods are kind to us, we should go well from up there.

Thanks to the guy's from TREC for the offer to come up and play.
