VK9N & KH8 activity news

Post by VK4GHZ »

Paul, A35RK, writes;

"I have spoken to Jim, VK9NS, and Larry, AH8LG, and they have both agreed to become more active on 6M.

Jim needs to renovate his 6M antenna, and Larry needs to get some new coax.
I believe them when they say that they are "working on it".

And don't forget: Tony, 3D2AG, will be QRV on 6M from Suva, beginning tomorrow, until 1 December.
Then he's off to Rotuma, and will be QRV from there beginning 3 December, for 2-3 weeks, maybe longer.
Tony is a keen 6M op.

73,
Paul, A35RK"

Thanks for the news Paul.

Tnx Adam, seem to remember having same conversation with Larry and Jim in Feb 1998 from KL7SIX.
After hearing fm sound from Mt Alava CH2 for about four years in a row.
Jim operates mainly around Xmas and has since 1981.

:idea: How about we load up the Lance and go there ourselves?
We could take a good payload and ahh it would only cost about 2500 for hire of the plane :roll: :roll: :roll:

We would not even need to pay the $250 per night for the digs we could put the antenna up next to the plane
run a power lead to the terminal and operate 24/7 from the club seating in the back.
There are showers and toilets at Norfolk and i have an ASIC card so when do we go? :arrow:
