Digital TX (what is legal)

Post by VK7HDX »

Hello Everyone.
As for having a "Novice limited" licence. Is it legal for me to TX (wthin my part of the spectrum) PSK-31 or any other digital mode.

I am looking for an updated :? emission mode chart.
Example...F3E and so on

Update:

As far as I know SSTV is one of those modes which is illegal for me to TX.

Hi Karl

When the standard licence comes in you will have all data modes except wide band modes like ATV etc...

A Novice has narrow band datamodes now up to 1.1 kHz

And while we are examining modes the licenced modes for 50-50.3 are???

SSB CW and RTTY (30watts) NOTHING ELSE.

As a concession at the last change 50-50.3 we got RTTY.

We didnt get WSJT PSK AMTOR SSTV
we got RTTY as per regs and a power reduction to 30 watts.
Read the submission and what we promised to do with 50 megs and why we wanted it and what mode we would run (mainly cw) affording a protection ratio to Ch 0 TV.

Skeptical, ask the ACMA.

And hey on 52 megs its all legal and 400 watts as well.
And there are a whole heap of guys up there waiting to be worked.
Dont know what modes they are permitted.
But why not change them and leave the International 6M dx window alone for what it was designed for.

You would not run WFM on 110 so why digital or any other mode?
Might get through under difficult conditions?
Are there any other kind of long haul dx conditions on 6M?
And we invariably get through using a Mark 1 ear and not much else.

5 cents.
