SE VK4 MAD [incorporating 23-on-23] – August 23, 2020
The impromptu MAD in July was a wash out, so let's hope that the scheduled August event is able to successfully complete!
MAD’s are an opportunity for uWave enthusiasts to venture far and wide to operate on the Amateur Radio bands from 1.2 GHz up.
Brisbane VHF Group is proud to announce that Sunday August 23, 2020 has been earmarked as the next SE VK4 MAD – Microwave Activity Day and will incorporate the 23-on-23 activity.
As we’re just a week out, it’s time to confirm and share your planning.
Consider:
- What bands you’ll be activating
- Which hilltop location you want to travel too
- What the path profiles to other activators looks like
- If you have a correct /P profile on vkspotter.com
- If you can introduce anyone else to uWaving!
Please remember, coordination on social media is like herding cats…. Your post, or comments may be lost for eternity. Only post your plans on vklogger.com and in this thread!
Catch you on 1.2GHz and above on Sunday August 23rd!

I plan to be at Howells Knob (QG63JF) again working 1296, 2.4, 5.7 and 10Ghz. I also hoping to get a couple more SCARC members working 23cm. I just need an exact starting time so I can work out my travel plans.

Like last time, there are two parallel threads about this on this Forum alone.
https://www.vklogger.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=14088
This only fragments discussion and hinders effective coordination.
A bit like the the endless splinter groups on social media.
I merged the topics (did anyone notice?) but the real answer is coordinating who is posting, and where?

Have we made an official start time for this MAD. It seems we are good at agreeing to a date but never a starting time.
The earliest I can be on site at Howells Knob is 11am but I don't want to be up there all day so please can we make an official start time so we can plan our travel times.

Based on Kevin’s post, I will be setting up at Kamuran about midday ready to activate from 1pm. I’ll pack up after a successful afternoon, that is, expecting to be driving home in the dark.VK4LHD wrote:Have we made an official start time for this MAD.
