Icom Phishing Email Alert

Post by VK4GHZ »

It appears Icom (Australia) aren't running adequate virus protection!

Yesterday and earlier today (30 June 2020) you may have received a phishing email from one of my colleagues offering to share an audio file via a link, this is not genuine.

An Icom employee had been impacted by a phishing scam, resulting in many emails being sent maliciously to recipients. Please do not click on the link and delete immediately.

If you have clicked on the link, you will have been redirected to a fake Microsoft Office365 site and asked to enter your Microsoft Username and Password. Do not follow these instructions, as this action may result in details being harvested from your contact list. If you followed the instructions and entered your login details, you should contact your IT Support Provider immediately.

Icom Australia takes the protection of data and network security seriously and invests heavily in Multi-Factor authentication and secure hosting. I will ensure our team takes additional precautions and the awareness of phishing emails is increased to reduce the risk of this reoccurring.

I apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused, please rest assured the protection of your data is our utmost priority.

Yours faithfully
