There is now a WSPR station running on 2m from the top of our hill for the next 3 months. It is transmitting WSPR on 144.489 + 1540 Hz offset (144.490540), followed by a CW ident at + 600Hz offset (144.489600) sending ZL1SIX RF64VT. Further info and pictures at https://www.qsl.net/zl1rs/bcn_ant.html
Shortly we will add a CW beacon on 144.252 to the transmitter's programming for a test period with the view to establishing a 'permanent' licensed 2m beacon from the Far North district. The frequency is as listed in the NZART Beacon Plan for this area (near Kaikohe) ... https://www.nzart.org.nz/assets/infolin ... ue-353.pdf. The test will show if a CW beacon will be practical with the local VHF DXers living close to the site.
