Kenwood TM-V7A memory loss

Post by VK5IR »

Hi all

I've had a Kenwood TM-V7A for probably 5-6 years which I bought second hand and it's been a good little rig however recently it started losing its memory channels and settings after being powered off. It basically resets itself. After doing some research online I came to realise that its a common issue for this model but has anyone actually been able to fix it?

I've tried the usual soft/hard resets which has not fixed the problem. And before anyone asks if I have tried changing the memory battery, apparently this rig stores it's data on an EPROM and has no internal battery.

I'm hoping to hear from someone who can tell me how I can fix this.

Many thanks & 73
