VK6RPH Beacon

Post by VK6ZFG »

Hi All

A new GPS locked VHF Group VK6RPH Beacon built by VK6RK is now operating on 6M, 2M, 70cm and 23cm under test At Wireless Hill. It uses the ZL2BKC multi mode controller with a separate PA for each band and is currently connected to a modified CB Ringo vertical on 6M and a triband vertical for the other three bands.

Frequencies are: 50.066, 144.460, 432.460, 1296.460 MHz

It is planned to relocate the Beacon to a new permanent site on the Darling Scarpe as soon as this can be arranged.

Thanks for the update Igor
6,2 & 70 all heard clearly at my QTH.
As well as CW ident seem to have what sounds like a JT65 ident.. but start timing is along way off to decode.
its good to have the beacons back.
Thanks

Thanks for your efforts. Which direction will the antenna be pointing on this beacon?

We've been hoping for a few beacons further south down the coast to be reactivated or established... ideally with digital modes
