Thanks for reading this
A new fault has developed on one of my TS2000X with low RF output on 2m. Only about 30 watts being developed
Output on all other bands seems unchanged and all receive functions appear normal
I have seen reports of low output on 2m and HF on interweb but not this problem
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Re: Kenwood TS2000 Low Output 2m
Hi Kevin,
You probably have already tried this, most new radios will wind back the power if the SWR is high. I'm guessing you tested the TS2000 into a dummy load?
Regards
Jayson

Thanks Jason
Yes I did conform this - but the logical first step

KJ have you posed the question to the TS2000 Yahoo group?
You may find the answer there.

Re: Kenwood TS2000 Low Output 2m
KJ,
If the fault is limited to 2M only, then it must be the 2M PA stage Q101 Q102.
(HF & 2M share the same pre-driver chain, a 2SK2596 > 2SC1971, and then a pair of 2SC1972s. And you have indicated that HF O/P is normal)
Maybe one of the Q101 or Q102 devices has failed (or the bias/VCC to that device).
Get out the multimeter and/or CRO!
