FS1000A 433 MHz SAW ASK transmitters

Post by VK4GHZ »

The joys of cheap Chinese crap on EBAY!
Two separate packages arrived, both non-functional. }:[

One of them being some of these low-cost 433 MHz SAW transmitter and receiver pairs for a current project.
The receivers work as advertised.

However, the FS1000A transmitter boards didn't have L2 fitted ex factory!
No DC volts to the transistor collector - couldn't possibly work.

Albiet annoying having to do, a quick fix with some on-hand ECW.

Ebay seller notified!
Given they sell cosmetics too, I'm sure their eyes glazed over when reading what I submitted.

Hi Adam.

Be interesting to see the reply if indeed you get one.
I had a xtal in a cct that stopped oscillating at a given temp. I was able to prove this to the supplier, in this instance they were the manufacturer so they sent me replacements.

Id be asking for a handful of free boards for you trouble.

I've had this before from a Chinese Supplier.

I requested a refund from PayPal as it as not fit for purpose, not as advertised.

PayPal refunded my money straight away. No returns required. Just backed out the payment.

In my case I could fix the problem. So it really was a throw away.

Aliexpress is better than ebay. If you tell Ali it dont work they will refund you. They dont like bad suppliers. Trouble is theres China suppliers that range from -10 to +10 in quality.

Update!

Got a refund of $3.

Original purchase price was $6.88 for the three transmitter and receiver pairs, so ended up costing $3.88, and the fix as quick and easy. :om:
