This month the regular 23/23 activities falls across a weekend so we are planning another MAD (Microwave Activity Day) on Sunday 23.9.18

Several portable stations have already committed to going out portable with multiple band from 1296MHz and up

Already activity is planned from Stradbroke Island, Howells Knob and Kamuran Lookout on the Border Ranges NP.

Dust off your gear and get it out onto a mountaintop near you

For the MAD, I plan to be operating portable from somewhere on high ground near the middle of North Stradbroke Island. I expect to be able to commence operations around 12:00 midday. [I'll find out on-site whether the weather RADAR installation there will be a source of microwave QRM.....]
I will have available all microwave bands from 1296 MHz to 76 GHz, and will be on the 147.0 MHz FM repeater or 439.0 MHz FM simplex for liaison purposes ("talk back").
It looks like being a rather good day for any outdoors activity - let's make this one a good one!
