Unfortunately, conditions are not always optimal. For example, Sunday on Schafbergspitze, Austria. At 1,783m ASL, it's a great site for playing with microwave stuff. However, it can get a bit damp when the cloud base is at 800m. It was interesting how well 47GHz worked at the time.

We've managed a couple of 'firsts' on this trip.
Yesterday we did the first (we're told) QSOs on 47GHz (SSB) and 76GHz (CW) between Germany and Liechtenstein.
Today we did 76GHz SSB. The operators were David (HB0/VK5KK/P) in Liechtenstein and Wolfgang (DL/OE4WOG/P) in Germany.
Wolfgang, OE4WOG
Wolfgang, OE4WOG
David, VK5KK, operating on 76GHz

I hope you got to see the high voltage display while you were there - amazing. I reckon you could spend a week there and still not see everything.

Iain,

May I compliment you on the quality of some of those photos - you must have an excellent camera. The depth of field is outstanding - maybe the high altitude helps.

Cheers

Iain,

The Deutsches Museum in Munich was a place I could days...

I reckon they had the best placed OCFD in the world!

Enjoying your pictures, as I was in Munich a few weeks ago for work.

Wow our ham fests suck. Most tables in the video make Wyong look like a tip of useless crap

Ben

There's no comparison between Wyong and FN.

Wyong would not even fill a quarter of one of the halls at FN (There are 4 halls the size of big aircraft hangars.)

And yes...the quality and range of gear at FN has to be seen to be believed!

Cheers
