10m repeater for VK7

Hi All,
VK7RHF will be operating from Hobart very shortly.

The transmitter site has been installed, with the receiver site to come online shortly.
The transmitter portion consists of a GE MLS1 exciter and PA board removed and remounted onto a KL heatsink interfaced to a KL450 receiver.

The receiver is a modified KL70 down to 29MHz interfaced to a NHRC2.1 controller with a KL450 exciter and PA.
Both TX and RX antennas will be 1/2 wave Stationmaster verticals.

Output: 29.680MHz
Input: 29.580MHz
CTCSS: 91.5Hz

At this time, no tone will be required to access the repeater, however, in our limited testing during the summer months we had a lot of band openings and foreign non licenced stations opening the mute. If you cannot access the repeater, try 91.5Hz as it may be switched on as demanded.

Would a "parrot" repeater for 6m and 10m be acceptable?

With 6m in particular, a band opening often happens when only 'you' are around.
So, you hear the repeater tail and ident, but never know what your audio is like.

Our Dural 6m repeater for instance gets two regular QSOs per day. That's it.
Our Lawson 6m, even less.

So I ask, is a "parrot" repeater, on one site the go for 10m?
