This is probably a very dumb question, but am I right in thinking that foundation license holders can use satellites? Since I started to listen to satellites a few months ago I have never heard an F call. It would seem to me an ideal way to extend their coverage on VHF/UHF.

Re: Satellites and Foundation licence
Hi Wayne,
Good point and worthy of promoting...
We get the odd F call across to ZL on 144 tropo and you can tell they are running 10 watts.
Not big signals - but easily heard.
I remember one from VK2 and another recently from VK4.
They are sort after and to be honest put a good signal into ZL.
It makes my day to work a F call across the pond with an opening.
Cheers, Steve

Yes they can as long as their down link does not come out on an unauthorized band.VK4WDM wrote:This is probably a very dumb question, but am I right in thinking that foundation license holders can use satellites?
