Dick Smith Relative Field Strength Meter Kit

Post by VK4FLR »

Hi Guys -looking for any info on an Old Dick Smith kit for monitoring TV sigs, Its called a "Relative Field Strength Meter " kit no 6329 -can't find any info in the listing on VK Ham or on Dr Google - I have the kit working ok -was obviously designed for Analogue TV signal level monitoring - it has VHF/UHF tuners on board as receivers with facilities for 4 channel setting selection with 4 adjustable knobs for tuning the tuners, - also has a display meter with a calibrated db attenuation pot & audio amp with gain pot for speaker level. - have found it will receive all DTV UHF sig carriers ok -& could be useful useful for monitoring & playing around with the digital carriers levels & correct alignment of a high Gain 91E DTV antenna in a fringe area situation with marginal reception issues.

Any Help would be appreciated

Hi Frank,

Check Silicon Chip magazine, April 1990 edition. It was a constructional project.

For $10, the nice people at Silicon Chip will post you a photocopy of the original article: http://www.siliconchip.com.au/Shop/2

Good luck - hope it does what you need.

Cheers,
