Oceania Dx Contest October 2015

Post by VK4TS »

The Oceania DX contest has been around since the mid 1930s and was known previously as the VK/ZL Contest. Activity has increased in recent years due to a huge promotional effort by the joint Australian and New Zealand Contest Committee.

Contest Dates/Times:

PH - The first full weekend in October each year from 0800 UTC Saturday to 0800 UTC Sunday

CW - The second full weekend in October each year from 0800 UTC Saturday to 0800 UTC Sunday

Log deadline for PH and CW logs - 31st October in the year of the contest

Send logs to:
PH@oceaniadxcontest.com
CW@oceaniadxcontest.com

In order to encourage 160m activity, the committee recommends checking between 1855kHz and 1865kHz at 15 minutes and 45 minutes past the hour during the Phone contest

Australia Club Competition Plaque

Sponsored by VK Contest Club.

Awarded to the Australian radio club with the greatest number of Single Operator entries
in the OCDX contest by members of the club.

For each club, the number of participating member stations is equal to the sum of the
number of stations in the PHONE section and the number of stations in the CW section.
In case of a tie between two or more clubs, then the scores of the individual participating
stations will be totaled for each club, and the plaque will be awarded to the club with the
highest total score.

Please note that:
To qualify as a participant, a station must log at least 50 valid contacts
during either the PHONE or CW sections of the contest.
A station that logs at least 50 QSOs in the PHONE section and at least 50 QSOs in the
CW section is deemed to qualify twice as a participant.
To be eligible for the plaque, a club must submit a minimum number of 3 participant
stations.
Only local clubs in Australia are eligible for this award - national
organizations or clubs like the WIA or VKCC are not eligible.
Participating club members must live within an area of a circle with a maximum of
200km diameter.
Each entrant should state the name of the club in their log, by completing the CLUB:
