So you can't read coverage plots either? Work out the percentage of the Australian population living in the coverage areas... the major blue chip companies using it are interested where the population is. That is why a TDMA based technology like DMR is ideal- spectrum is expensive and the capacity of a TDMA system is far superior to FDMA (as well as permitting it to be used for data and voice).

And it seems to me that you have a chip on your shoulder. The owner of the Orion network has allowed amateur repeaters to share the infrastructure- so keep up with the attitude, you are making a goose of yourself.

Following this one closely as I would that idea myself, it would make it cheaper to deploy a DMR repeater.
Can't say I have heard about it as of yet but there is a DV dongle along the same lines as the DV dongle used for D-Star that will do both Dstar and DMR coming out very soon

Hay Brandon you can add a new freq allocation (new repeater)to your existing club site for less than a carton of beer. you will not be given a discount on your carton of beer if you choose analog, TDMA or any other technology. The last one we did in Mackay cost about $30 from memory.

I've emailed them, mentioning we need a solution, full duplex for a repeater and 10mW is ridiculous.
We have Tait UHF repeaters in abundance to modify.

Hay Brandon keep an eye out for me for any 2nd Motorola DMR gear. They seem to be few and far between on ebay. $500 plus delivery seems a bit pricey for a single bander. I did see some ex Grosvenor mine radio's pop up a while ago but cant recall if they are bottom enders.

Thanks I have been waiting for the demand of the dv4mini to die down and then I am going to buy one, but i am having some issues with my TYT MD-380 at the moment with it not decoding DMR voice but sends it fine, so will have to wait and see what happens might even get into DMR instead as it is way more popular here in VK then what DMR is my a long shot

Availability of lots of hand-helds for a search and rescue, something Fusion or D-Star will never match.

The DMR-marc is a very good system. We used to have a TG link there once, however it is not desired by DMR-Marc users.

The DV4mini is mainly to blame for this unpopularity. Over time we realised the Germans were never going to get the software to a required standard, and the device leaves
audio pollution all over the DMR network. We learnt our lesson and DV4mini users are replacing with DVmega's for DMR, which have crystal clean good audio.

I have not used a dv4mini for DMR since last year, and now only for C4FM/P25

The mmdvm homebrew repeater has also matured and sound perfect with the right radio choice.
Ext HCMOS TXCO's are now used for DUE freq ref, and DMR sync is perfect.
A new filtering design is coming soon also.

The majority of connections are worldwide Motorola & Hytera repeaters. APRS reporting, Priv call, msg/data is supported.

The Yaesu DR-1X works very well with the mmdvm.

BM activity seen here. the system now can connect TG's to wires-x rooms with perfect audio both ways.

Not being used to the sound of low bandwidth digital audio can I ask if that is as good as it gets? Sounds no different than Dstar to my ears. I don't expect HiFi but much of it is very difficult to understand.

Should work with any repeater really. All that is needed is to bypass any audio filtering.

The hoseline feed is dependant on internet conditions and load. Getting on directly is the best method. VK started the worlds first opensource C4FM reflector with wires-x liinks back into BM DMR.
