The ACMA website says:
An Advanced, Standard or Foundation licence can also be issued to anyone holding Senior Coast or Coast Station Operator's Certificate of Proficiency.
What about someone holding a "Marine Radio Operator's Certificate of Proficiency (MROCP) issued by the Australian Maritime College in 2011?
I intend to give ACMA a call but there may be somebody here that knows the answer and would save me the trouble.

What marine op licence qualifies for ham licence?
Re: What marine op licence qualifies for ham licence?
I have the Marine Radio Operator's Certificate of Proficiency (MROCP) don't think it is valid for any Amateur Radio licence - mind you it was about as hard as the Foundation Licence with a marine bent.....

Hi Paul
I think you are correct but I have sent an email to the ACMA to confirm. This person spent many years as a communications op with the RAAF as well as having a MROCP so I don't think he will have much of a problem getting a foundation licence.

I had a very rapid response from the ACMA. As expected, a holder of the MROCP gets no RPL for an amateur licence.
