I'm sure people have done it before, but I'm having trouble finding the right terms to plug into Google to find a solution.
In a short sentence: I want to be able to conduct a QSO over my home network.
The PC next to my radios is running Linux, my main PC on the other side of the house is running Windows 8.1. If it makes a difference, the netowrk is wireless, but I have been streaming my RTL-SDR (rtl_tcp) over the network to SDRSharp.
Rig control could be CAT to my FT-817, so that is easy enough to do via ssh login, PTT control is a potential issue as there doesn't seem to be any standard way other than using a serial port (which the PC next to the radio does not have), but I may look into doing something with an attiny85 or use VOX.
Running mumble would be a pain, not excited about needing to run a whole server for a 1-to-1/P2P link, and I can't seem to find much else out there...
Remote rig audio (and control?) over local network
