Need help with configuring wspr on a macbook

A week or so back I had to change the hd in my windows machine due to a crash reinstalled everything but I can't get WSPR to RX no problem txing and I am being heard around the world.
My MacBook Pro can rx but not tx. I am trying to go Mac for Ham Radio so would really like to get this up and running. I have bought an interface basically a black box with a USB cable audio in/out and the data plug to connect to the radio (TS480). I have downloaded the Prolific driver for the Mac and installed it but I cannot get WSPR (Mac version) to recognise the device plugged into the USB port. I am not fluent in Mac so a dummies guide would be good. Anyone else using WSPR on a Mac who would be willing to help this dummy out?
