Turned on my TS680 (after 7 years) to find the display didn't work.
The fault was in the Z1 inverter module which is no longer available. Part number is CPS1175C.
I removed the module and disassembled it to find a burn mark on the pcb. The component wasn't readily identifiable so traced out the schematic and worked out it should be a zener.
Took several guesses as to the value starting at 15 volts and eventually settling at 22 volts as this gave the correct voltage for the display and correct filament voltage.
Hope this helps anyone else that has a faulty TS140 or TS680

Hi Rex
Nice to see this technical point about this mysterious SCP1175C that looks out in my TS140S.
I think you are the only person all over the planet to speak about this subject
I am going to open it as soon i can and try to repair it .
thanks a lot
