Hi all....

Launch has been delayed to the 1st dec @ least..if not longer due to weather conditions..

The interesting point is that the reports say the mode being used is ONLY similar to WSJT but not the same....

So possibly the only thing amateurs can copy is the CW transmission....?

Going by the updates on the above linked web page, it appears to have been launched !!

"2014/12/03 - Shin-en2 has been deployed from HIIA Vehicle."

"2014/12/03 - Utility program for Shin-en2 signal reception are opened courtesy of Sanada-san(JI1IZR), a member of ARTSAT group."

Hi all....

I think it is about 450,000km out....so its going to be difficult to get a copy unless you have am EME grade set-up.

Hi,
Only seen 1 report of signals rxed, and a report that the mode J transponder did not fly also.

Should be able to pick up signals with single 9 el yagi and using spectran or wsjt to look at signals
will be too low in s/n ratio to hear most likely.

Hi all....

Ok interesting so many changes in a short period of time with this bird...

I just read from Moon-net that VK3UM had a listen this morning for more than 2 hrs and heard nothing.....and says he was getting a good echo off the moon at the time......so what is happening....?
