Faraday Rotation and your beam

Hi All..

Have been doing a little reading...and I have to ask the question, with everything we know about the signal rotation why do we still persist with linear Hor or Vert antenna when doing EME work, where a dual polarized antenna or even a circular one may work better......and give signal reception where there was none before.

On the lower bands, linear polarisation is generally less complex mechanically, not to mention reduced windloading. Having said that though, I am looking at the option of a smaller switchable polarity array for 2m which should give greater overall reliability, albeit it with reduced peak signal strengths.

Note these antenna can have aperture efficiency more than 100%.

At 2.6 x 2.6 x 1/2 wavelengths in size, at 70cm and 23cm, attractive.

My feed thought, loop of 1/4" heliax, loli-pop style. "P"
