3D2/R - Rotuma - 11.08.14 POSTPONED

Antoine, 3D2AG, who was expected to be active as 3D2AG/p from Rotuma
(OC-060) between July 25th and August 8th, had to reschedule his
operation because of bad WX in Rotuma and unavail- ability of flights.
He will try again around September 12-26th. Activity will be on 40-6
meters using CW and SSB.

VILA ON
YJ0X - Vanuatu - 08.08.14

DXpedition 2014 Press Release #2 Only 9 weeks to go until members of The
Quake Contesters:
Callsign: YJ0X has been confirmed and we have received a copy of the
licence from TRR. LoTW and Clublog registrations are complete.
Equipment: 2 HF stations (K3s + amplifiers) plus a reserve (FT-450D) on
CW, RTTY & SSB as well as an FT-450D for 6m.
Antennas: 6m Delta Loop (beacon) and a 6 el yagi for openings.

We are likely to try 160m later in the week however
this will depend on noise levels and demand on the higher bands.
QSL: ClubLog online log (near real-time) and OQRS will be available.
Logs will be uploaded to LoTW within 3 months. Phil ZL3PAH is our QSL
manager.
Phil's, Geoff's and Gordon's XYLs will be along with us but this is NOT
a 'holiday style' expedition so whilst there will be some down time for
the ops, we are looking to make a high total number of QSOs. We will be
operating in both SSB and CW weekends of the Oceania DX Contest
(http://www.oceaniadxcontest.com).
Please visit http://yj2014.wordpress.com/ for more info. 73 - see you in

Thank you Steve for the important info.

I don't have ZL7 on 6m. It might be too late for winter Es and too early for summer Es but conditions have been very strange in recent years and unexpected openings have been occurring.

I don't need YJ but I do need H44 and H40. - Both of them are tough from up here, just a bit too close for Es, but hopefully there will be some 6m ops going to those areas in the summer and I might make the contacts.

Wayne
I am returning to Solomon Is again early next year (Feb) and will be mostly staying in Malata and Kwai. I was not planning to do any radio activities however if you think it may work for you I can give it a go. I still have a 6 m antenna and transceiver in safe storage in Honiara.
