Looks like some significant time has been put into this antenna design, as well as scientific measurement using a remote receiving antenna and spec an to compare it with a reference antenna (same length wire vertical and autotuner).

it looks interesting. The author also says it can be implemented as a dipole by changing the termination/transformer values.
