23-on-23 - Monday 23 June 2014

Post by VK4CZ »

Tomorrow evening see's the next 23-on-23 opportunity in South East VK4.

Can I suggest that we start at 8pm and run for 30 minutes?

Happy with other suggestions if it means more active stations.

Thanks Scott. Was wondering if it was still on or not. I want to go portable on top of Buderim and see how I go but that all depends on how I'm feeling. I got a bit of a cold after being out in the night air last night for the contest.
8PM will be good for me so hope I can get out. Never tried working portable from Buderim so if it works I will try it again for the next MAD.

Ah bugger, Club meeting tomorrow night. If I get motivated I'll throw the radio and beam in and try from the beach at Redcliffe.

To regular WSPR stations in SE (Australia), I think we should also hook onto this and run a bit of a session on 23cm WSPR this evening. What do you think :?: It would most likely be a bit of a point to point session co-ordinated through the logger as beams are pretty pointy. Stations would really need to be ref locked for TXing purposes.

Other stations feel free to have a go also.

Unfortunately tonight's 23-on-23 clashed with the Redcliffe Club meeting and a s a result we were down a few participants.

Special thanks to VK4LHD/P... making the effort to go /P at Buderim.

Working on getting Redcliffe Club Station 23cm capable, so that clash will never be an issue again.

I did attempt to come on air lat night, however, the ageing IC202 IF radio looks like it's gone t!ts up. Very deaf and bugg3r all TX output on 2m. I could only just hear squealing from my 23cm FM handheld TX at 0.1W right next to the transverter on 1296.1, and nothing significant TX on 1296.1 either.

It worked last month however I only made 1 QSO then.

I shall have to bring the setup into the office and check it out, biggest problem is that test gear only goes up to 1 GHz. At least I can prove/disprove the IC202 as the fault.
I was p!553d off about it last night....
