PS-9 PICO balloon release Mon 9/6/14
Re: PS-9 PICO balloon release Mon 9/6/14
Hi John,
The payload is programmed with global geofencing and will change the APRS frequency depending on the country it is in.
Over the water it won't be transmitting.
ISS is no good for the PICO. TX power, antenna, moving position, requirement for iGate in the footprint all works against it and reduces the chance of being digipeated by ISS to practically nil

Hi all..
ahh Ok.....did not know you turned off the TX over water.....yeah I knew from your previous try ISS would be difficult....from memory there are more sats that use the APRS....but yeah know the issues......just thought any chance is better than none at all...Don't the Sats use a store and forward system...any country can download the stored APRS...?
