Hi all...
Was doing a little antenna testing this morning on 17m using WSPR..
I was copying a VK8KMD....in the Alice I think..
the signal pattern was like this for close to an hour....
+2 +4 +10 followed by +3 +3 +10 followed by +5 +5 +10... with around 6 or so minutes between each...
Prop or other...?

Propagation or other ?
Re: Propagation or other ?
Hi John,
If you look at the IPS HAP charts for the later part of the morning, you may see an explanation.
Alice from Sydney was right on the edge of 18MHz propagation.
A bit of Es present, and although not stunning, you never never know with Es.

Hi all...
Owen..
Interesting your mentioned the HAP charts.....I had just gone back and looked at when I would lose the signal based on those charts....and LOS was to be expected sometime in the 7 utc hour....actual reduction of signal strength was around 8:10 or so UTC.....The signal went from +2 to -19 dB in about 6 or so minutes......that is very good accuracy in my book...
Whether it holds to that Globally is another question...
