There are only a handfull of VK6 operators on 6M.

If it was a VK6, it might have been one one of the few with the callsign not heard properly.

No VK6s with the "J" in the callsign that I am aware of as quoted on 6m.

Back on topic, it's highly unlikely that any kind of contact was made at the reported day/time.

Notwithstanding that, any efforts made to prove a hitherto before non-path are to be applauded.

Spot on Andy, many predictions were made by the so called experts re the unlikely possibility of contacts into the pacific areas in the last 10 years which proved to be totally wrong with many contacts being made at the bottom of the sunspot cycle, probably by multiple hop 'E's'.

This is a bit odd. There is no name, only a company, and if they have their own call sign, surely a trustee would be named.

We all know easy it is to stuff up a call sign in the excitement. Regardless of that, the evidence seems to be that a path was there. Andrew VK4OER's radar work has shown that paths to Sth Africa are probably more frequent than we think. In other word's be vigilant

Unless the registration for VK6JAY expired on Monday (which means it was only recently removed from the ACMA database) and there is independent confirmation that VK6JAY WAS operating at the specified time, then I can't see how anyone can conclude that there was a path at the specified time.

Historically recorded info shows time for Perth to ZS /V51 /A22 /7Q7 on 50mhz has been 0630 to around 1030 utc.
