The Harry Angel Sprint is an annual 80m contest event, first established in 1999, to commemorate the life of Harry Angel VK4HA who, at the time of his death at the age of 106, was the oldest licensed amateur in Australia. The duration of the contest is 106 minutes in commemoration of Harry’s age.
The “HA” is held on or around the first Saturday in May each year. The contest is open to all grades of license holder and is particularly suited to operators new to contesting. Individual operators and club station entries from VK and ZL are invited to participate. The rules for this year’s event are unchanged from 2013.

Place winners in the Harry Angel Contest are also eligible to claim points for the WIA Contest Champion (Peter Brown) Trophy.

Well, Dr Kev, seeing as nobody else is posting on this thread, let me say - I'm going to try out my field-portable 1/4 wave vertical and see if it is any good. If it works, I might just go out to a quiet locale on the HA contest evening and see what eventuates.

The 2015 Harry Angel Memorial 80m Sprint will be held on Saturday 2nd May this year.

The rules are essentially unchanged from previous years with the exception of a new category for SWL/receive only entries.

any chance of a low power catagory cause with 100w You cant compete against people giving it the full 400W.

btw regardless i'll still be in the mix maybe something to think about for next year.
