Hi all

To drive some of the stuff mentioned in this thread, have a look at these.

DVB-T for under $200 and includes output up to 23 cms...

There are a few devices in the range at varying prices.

Unfortunately they cannot modulate DVB-S, so are no good for transmitting to a 23cm repeater input.

Who says you can't use DVB-T for a repeater input?
Maybe not practical for existing repeaters but nothing stopping you for a new one.

Hi

I have just registered for the forum.

I have been using one of the Hides UT-100C DVB-T TX (US$160) with some success over the past few months. It is still early days for this technology but it shows a lot of promise. It works with the Australian free to air 7MHz DVB-T settings (or any other combination).

I have received one of their BH-100EH DVB-T repeaters (US$250) (70 cm in, 23cm out, with provision for ID call sign) in the last couple of days. Not spent much time with it but seems ok on paper. OE7DBH has one working. He seems the main tester for Hides amateur gear. His forum posts are the best place to get current information on Hides gear, especially software updates.

If you have any problems ordering gear or any technical matters, just email Hides. They are very helpful and friendly. Their gear is also available on the USA eBay. The Taiwan Trade shop is a bit wonky.

I report most of my activities on my blog. http://vk4zxi.blogspot.com.au/

Of general interest to ATV is my improvised instrumentation, such as using a BladeRF with SDR-Console as a spectrum analyser (300-3000 MHz, 20 MHz bandwidth) and some free Crazycat scanner software with DVB-T or DVB-S tuner cards to get constellation diagrams and band sweeps.

I have ordered a DATV Express card recently (~$350). They primarily do DVB-S but can also do DVB-T. Runs on Linux.
