RO57 and RO77 Data

Hi all,

Another tip for those filling these out for the first time... you MUST fill out the technical information relevant to your application. I have had a few people ask if they could leave details like antenna type blank- if you look at some existing licenses on Radcom it comes up "Antenna type unknown". Today I had ACMA bounce an application that left this information blank... I should have picked it up before it was submitted... so if any forms are submitted through me they will be checked in future and will be bounced back to the applicant if the information is not supplied.

Boring yes, but for those doing repeater & beacon work... just a warning!

Cheers

G'day Richard, I wish I'd read your above post 2hrs ago. My application went into the mail early this morning. I intentionally left the antenna details blank in case the TAC coordinators had a preferred way in which to fill them out, instead of trying to scribble out what I had entered and replaced with WIA preferred data. But, I've explained everything including proposed antenna details on a covering letter that I mailed off with the RO57, RO77 and WIA callsign request form.

I'm sure I'll hear about my errors if there's an issue...

Cheers,

Do you get a slap if antennas are changed after the approval of license? Or are you supposed to pay a variation fee to have it reflect the changes?

Very unlikely... unless they do a site audit.

The new DRAFT WIA Repeater and Beacon Policy is now up on the WIA website- hopefully this will help to clear up any issues.

G'day Richard, all noted.

Interesting to read this... http://www.wia.org.au/newsevents/news/2 ... 0Draft.pdf and in particular this:

The typical time for the WIA to process a complete application is 28 days.

28 days doesn't seem to be much time - but not a bad target to aim for nonetheless.

Cheers,
