What do People pay and for how many

where do you order from

is it local

are they good quality print and stock

Reason Im asking is I am a local VK3 looking for interest in printing QSL cards and want to know if i can be competitive in price service and turnaround time

They would be printed on a production quality digital laser full colour machine on a high quality 300gsm satin smooth stock that can be written on with ball point pen

In January this year I ordered 500 cards from this mob - http://qslprinter.com/

Cost was $50 including shipping. Took 8 weeks to arrive but I was in no hurry. Top quality cards.

I think from memory it was about $80 for 1000 cards shipped.

That price is for a double sided card, full colour glossy front and a black and white back.

well so far it looks like people go OS for there cards not sure i can compete with there prices i would be able to do 500 cards colour front and BW back for around $50 plus postage on a 300gsm card (not a light card like the OS ones) im thinking my cards would be of a better quality though

Im also thinking i can do smaller amounts too if needed

so Im open to PMs if anyone wants any and we will see how it goes from there and hopefully word of mouth wins

Cheers for now

I use QSLPrinter as well, it can take sometimes take a while for delivery (depending on when you place your order in his printing cycle) but the price is pretty good.

300GSM card does sound good and I'm sure people would be more than happy to support a local guy...

Cheers,
Matt

If I had a choice, I'd use my main double sided "flash" ones for selected contacts, and use a basic one for the routine ones, DXpeditions etc., something like this would be fine for those i.e. a cut above basic but still looking good:

Qsl printer is around $50 posted for 500 cards but it can take upto 6 weeks.

If I could get them in Australia for around the small price I would.

How would you take orders? The online interfaces at QSLprinter.com are quite easy to use and give a good indication of what's the final product will look like..

Something like that would be ideal for high volume, but I guess for a startup it would be a lot of effort?

Press ready pdf file are the best but i can work with most formats word and excel i try to avoid like the plague

Size is normally 140 x 90 or 130 x 90mm but i can do any size up to 148 x 105 (A6) for the same price

Obvious stuff, but in time have a webpage showing examples of what you have done, particularly examples of "stock" standard designs like the W4MPY, so people can see what's on offer, how to place an order etc.

Hi Andy

You may like to review https://www.amateurradio.com.au/qslcards for size and weight restrictions for QSL cards.

At 300 gsm your cards could be twice as heavy as 'normal cards' and may not be readily accepted by outward QSL bureaux.

Cards that are twice as heavy means only half as many can be sent for a standard parcel cost.

For me, I'd happily support a local business if the price and service is good.
