Yes Andy, that will be fine. Even though it's hard draw it might still stretch a little. Just put some tension on it before you hang it in the air.

I confirm that advice. I use similar wire for all my wire antennas including loops. Just cut it a bit longer and trim for best SWR.

It should work very well on other bands as well if you use a tuner, epecially so if you feed it wire open wire line to a balanced tuner, or even a 4:1 balun at the bottom of the open wire line.

Stainless steel wire "rope". Been using it VERY effectively for many years.
No stretch, no corrosion, and NO RUST.

I been using an 80M loop antenna for many moons now. I use a 1.5mm Black coated wire for mine as well as a 4:1 balun. I found using the 4:1 balun and RG213 coax made tuning a lot easier than open feed or direct coax connetion. I aslo found feeding it near one of the corners made tuning much better as well. Mine needs no tuner on 80M and min tuning for 40M and even works well on 15M & 20M with a tuner. As mentioned earlier it can strech in the hot sun as I found out here in the hot VK4 sun but it don't take much to trim it back down. It is also a very low noise antenna as well. Have fun building it and enjoy using it.
