Yaesu G650 computer interface

Hi all,

I have just purchased a lovely new G650 rotator and I would like to interface this to my PC for use with HRD's rotator controller. I have seen a nice kit called the ERC Easy Rotator Control, and I like the look of it, but before I buy it, I would like to know if anyone else has any other recommendations...

I think I will go down the ERC path as all the reviews look great and the kit seems to be straightforward.

I ordered the ERC-M USB Kit

With the box with the LCD screen, looks really good in the photo..

I'll probably go for the basic ERC instead - the -M model seems to need "rotor cards" and other bits and pieces to cobble it all together, so the basic one just seems to be simpler.

I have an MDS RC-1 with the G-650, integrates and works seamlessly with HRD etc.

Cant recall the $ tag.

Hi Brendon,

Wow, thats a complete digital replacement for the entire controller box, which includes RS232 connectivity. Price seems to be $250US.

The only downside is that those new ones require 24VDC, whereas the Yaesu control box I have runs off 240VAC, which means another power supply required..

My order arrived from ERC today, very well packed. Took 10 days in total to get here.

Very good company to deal with.

The supplied cd has all the wiring directions for the rotors he lists on the site. This is for the ERC M controller.

Built the ERC-M today and it works fine, Worth the money for sure.
