VK2ROT 2m upgrade

Hi Guys,

Paddingtons old 2 meter repeater has now been upgraded to a Motorola MTR2000. The power has been cranked up from the old repeater and and it has much greater sensitivity compared to the old one. If people could hop on and test it out and give signal reports that would be great!

Can trigger on low power, no one answred the call at the time to give me a signal report, but I gather it works!

Good to see the MTR2000 in use.

Just had a QSO with VK2ZDM who was at Randwick.

My signal on low power was slightly noisy at worst so it seems the repeater is doing well. Perfect copy on high power.

A "well done" to the ROT team.

Can whack it with my hand held on low power inside the house from Erskineville - I could never do that before (had to switch the h/h to 5 watts in order to hit it), just tuned the FTM350/AR to the frequency. Will listen for a while.

A dead spot on the North-West side of Darling St in Balmain/Birchgrove on a HT. Granted, it's a little behind the crest. Surprisingly though, can hit VK2ROT's 70cm repeater, just.
