2m WSPR Ref Locked Stations
2m WSPR Ref Locked Stations
WSPRers,
Keep in mind that we have a couple of active stations now who's radios are highly accurate and stable being locked to GPS or Rubidium reference.
Stations Im aware of so far are -
Iain VK5ZD - 144.490540
Jim VK3ZYC - 144.490500 ? (needs to be verified)
David VK5KK (?not sure, but Davids sig is very stable) - 144.490501
So if u find you can hear/decode signal from a Ref Locked station, you can verify your rigs accuracy and adjust if required.
I've listed the stations TX freq above. So if you are able to get a signal, for example, from Iain VK5ZD, we know he's station is set to TX 144.490540. So when your program decodes VK5ZD, you should see his decode reported at 144.490540 in the program.
If its not then you may need to tune your RADIO dial freq up or down accordingly to correct this. This will then get your radio tuned up as accurately as possible.
So for example if you did decode VK5ZD at 144.490511 for example. You would need to tune your rig down 29 Hz to get it on exactly the right freq to the Hz. After this VK5ZD should decode close to 144.490540 ... depending upon how drifty ur rig is with temperature. You may need to re-check and adjust now and then if it does drift over time of course.
If anyone else is on, or sets up 2m WSPR with ref locked radio please advise us in this thread. Let us know what you have set the programs TX freq to be so we know where we should have you decoding at.
Thanks

Derek,
This is great news, well done
It looks like Dean VK3NFI is on 144.490450 already, could you perhaps go for 144.490460 ? or maybe 440 ?

Re: 2m WSPR Ref Locked Stations
I've been thinking that its probably a good idea if GPS reference or OCXO hi stab stations clear out the middle of the 2m WSPR bandpass. Probably a good idea to make that area clearer for non locked stations that are probably better of being in the middle.
I've moved mine out to 144.490560. So people may notice a change to where I am showing up.
I've also moved stations who aren't regulars out of the main list so the freq's they were on may be taken up by others.

Phil VK5AKK - 144.490??? (OCXO I think?)

Re: 2m WSPR Ref Locked Stations
Has a similar database/thread been setup for those primarily on 6M?
e.g.: "6M WSPR Ref Locked Stations"

Re: 2m WSPR Ref Locked Stations
Hi Danny,
No I dont think there is a thread for locked 6m stations. Primarily because in most cases its not really required on 6m, rigs mostly seem stable on 6m.
I dont know who has a GPS locked 6m station. Some of the JA stations seem to but dont know of any VKs. THough I could be wrong. I guess someone with a TS2000 could have a locked device.

Re: 2m WSPR Ref Locked Stations
Hello,
I have moved to using my IC-910 for WSPR now that I have the Omni-antennas in the air http://www.parelectronics.com/omnis.php
My decoded signal should show up as: 144.490460 in WSPR at your end.
Above 500 Hz segment was getting a little crowded so have slipped down there until further notice. If you notice me drifting, its either I am on the old rig (IC-275) or the antenna has been pulled of the GPS receiver again
Regards,
Peter, vk5pj

Re: 2m WSPR Ref Locked Stations
An update with Jeff VK5GF, Wayne VK2XN, Scott VK4CZ (not sure where u are Scott? 470 ?)
Its probably a good idea to try keep +- 10 Hz of 500 vacant for stations who are not locked, so they can try get in the middle of the bandpass. But in some situations like VK2XN, being in a more unique location, being on 500 should be OK.
As more stations come on board with locking, we can have some discussion regarding if there is any better placement for some stations. But currently I think all seems OK.

Re: 2m WSPR Ref Locked Stations
If ok i'll keep to 144.490470MHz where I ran over the w/end. At this stage I'll only be 'active' on w/ends after other activities cease.
