silver conductive epoxy

Post by VK2AMS »

gday all , I am currently in the process of putting together a 24 GHz transverter and am looking for a small quantity of silver conductive epoxy to glue the harmonic mixer to the case , dimensions of the board are 55 mm x 20 mm so I dont need much ,I looked at most of the suppliers ei :element 14 , rs components etc and the price is up in the $100 bracket! anyone know of a cheaper alternative or supplier?
cheers . mark VK2AMS

Jaycar stock the JB Weld that VK4TI refers to: http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=NA1518, but there is no mention of it being conductive.

The key to the descrition is "...like metal..."
The "metal" implies it is conductive, but it may not be.
I haven't looked at the material datasheet, but you can, via the Jaycar page link above.

This is about half the price of VK supply:

Still expensive though, but that's the nature of the stuff I think.

I bought some "WireGlue" from the local Jaycar supplier. About 20 ml in a small jar. It isn't an epoxy though, but it didn't cost a lot.
