Has anyone got some plans for a dual band yagi antenna 2m 70cm handy?
I can't seem to find much on google.

I had tried to design something like that but never got reasonably good performance so gave up on that ... my result
was very similar to what Martin presented and for me that was not good enough ....
problem is that 144MHz elements are close to 432MHz WL multiplier hence interaction is significant and I never liked
those "maple leaf" shaped radiation patterns on 70cm ... however, this may work for small distance communication
and FM repeater opening but it is far from a mono band yagi performance and specifications - it all depend on what
you need such antenna for

Technically, a log periodic, not a yagi, but do you care?

Very clever design - elements *sized* for 2 mtrs, but spacing optimised for 70 cm.

Because of the 3:1 frequency ratio, the match is good, but the gain is great!

I know Ron VK3AFW made one for portable work. 3 elements on 2m and 6 on 70cm or something. Can't remember if it was written up in AR or not.

I'm not sure about AR, but Ron did present this at Gippstech 2001. If you can get access to a copy of the 2001 Proceedings, it's on page 45. 3 elements on 2 m; 7 elements on 70 cm.

Or perhaps Peter VK3PF will appear like magic from a cloud of smoke and point the way to a soft copy version?

I have a published design for a 2m / 70cm (crossed) Yagi for /P use.

Just Google 'VK2GOM Yagi' and that should find it. It's on the web in a few places including the AMSAT VK pages.

I made this also - it works very well. Is very compact, I made mine out of "heavier" gauge materials than was really necessary so it needs a strong rear mounting arrangement.
