I was exchanging ideas with another VK3 on how to activate the already built-in CTCSS encoder, but the thread seems to have been deleted.
I have now activated the CTCSS encoder by converting the radio to the USA spec., BUT the frequency range is now only 440 to 450 MHz - not very useful for repeater work in VK.
I have done half the mod. for opening up the frequency coverage to total band coverage (removed the contact from the J3 socket, which effectively cuts D15, as the mod suggests), BUT I cannot find where to move R55 on the EF board from "A" to "B" - these marks are nowhere to be seen on the circuit diagrams nor the PCBs themselves.
R55 is a 4.7k pull-down chip resistor on pin 67 of the microprocessor.

No, it's right here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=10065VK3ZIE wrote:I was exchanging ideas with another VK3 on how to activate the already built-in CTCSS encoder, but the thread seems to have been deleted...
