Operating in USA

Hi All,

can anyone tell me the operating rules / procedure for using amateur radio temporarily in the USA?

Seems VK is on the list as is ZL.

I had no problem in 2002 as W6/ZL1RS for a couple of weeks.

Just prefix your VK callsign with the US call district you're operating in, and you're good to go.

Privilges are the same as for your home license, within the bounds of what Part 97 of the FCC rules allow (ie US band limit and mode restrictions.)

I was there for 3 months in 2009 and had no problems
just remember what call district you are in and sign W?/VK3GHZ
I drove 8000 miles from the east coast to the west and had a ball on 2m.
