FreeDV (Codec2) Digital Voice, Operation in SE VK ??

I have just Installed FreeDV digital voice s/ware using 14 QPSK carriers FDM, 1400 bit/sec.
Wanting to do some testing..anyone in SE AU using FreeDV, wanting to do some testing ?

Hi Frank,

I'm setup for it, happy to help you test it out.

20m activity is at 14.236MHz, we might be a bit close for that though and have to use 40m, 7.190MHz.

There's an online QSO finder here: http://qso.k7ve.org/, I haven't used it much though so who knows how much activity it sees.

No problem, I sent a test transmission about a minute ago to check my levels. Do you know which sideband should be used? Is it LSB because of the frequency or USB because it's digital? Either way I sent on 7.190 LSB.

Edit: Triple H net is starting up on 7.190, I'll leave the logger HF chat open so we can arrange something through there if you're interested.

For digital modes, ALE Olivia AX25 PSK31 Pactor FDMDV FreeDV ect..the convention is USB I understand ?

I dont have HF at my metro locatiuon S9+ noise, I operate at our bush block shed..where noise is below S1, get there on weekend can organise a sked then ?

My availability on the weekend will depend on the weather: if it's raining, I'll be here. If it's sunny, I'll be out camping.
