Hearing K6FV

Post by VK3OE »

Hello,

Today I heard K6FV/B several times. The frequency was 50.0687.

Just for the skeptics, here is a CW skimmer decode at 03:30.
K6FV
K6FV
It decoded as DE K6FV/M, should have been DE K6FV/B.
I was not quick enough to get the CW trace as well .

Good DX,

Good catch! This is why I keep harping on about keeping 50.110 free of domestic traffic. We are all missng out on weak dx because of the clutter on the international CF and the lower end of the band.

In the past few months I have heard several very weak XE and W stations trying to break into the swarming hordes of VK2's and VK3's who simply can't hear them because they are too busy talking to each other.

Hello Wayne,

Correct !!!!!

Just as I said in my Dec AR article on the radar, there is a lot more out there to be discovered on 6m, that is why it is a magic band.
Keep out of 110 to 150 for domestic VK/ZL traffic. use a dual watch radio, and so on.
